How to value your partner

You Should Never Go to Sleep Without Telling Your Partner These Four Things

Do you sometimes wake up at night regretting something you said, or perhaps something you didn’t say to your partner? Sometimes, if you’re too comfortable in a relationship, you can forget the basics, how to value your partner and instead of showering them with compliments, you begin to take things for granted. To help you rekindle your romance, here are four things you should never go to sleep without telling your partner.

I love you’

Where better to start than this? Never underestimate the power of telling your partner that you love them. Even if you think they should know it by now, tell them that you love them every single day. Even better, show them that you love them with acts of kindness and support; that will make those short three words even more meaningful than they already are.

How was your day?’

When you’re in a relationship, it’s so important that you check in with your partner and ask them how their day went. Regardless of whether you were together or apart, always ask them how things have been and what they’ve been up to. As an open question, it invites them to get things off their chest that have been bothering them and also share things they wish to celebrate with you.

‘I’m so lucky to be with you’

Worried that this might sound a little soppy? Don’t be. You might be pinching yourself that you’ve managed to find someone that you love and appreciate so much but you don’t know how to value your partner. Instead of just keeping it to yourself, tell your partner exactly how you feel about them and how lucky you feel to be with them. Nobody will tire of hearing how much they mean to you, and it’s an excellent way to add depth to your relationship.

‘Thank you for….’

There’s always something you can be grateful to your partner for. Whether it was preparing a delicious meal, or sending you a thoughtful text when you were on your way to a job interview in the morning, don’t forget to thank your partner for whatever they’ve done for you. If couples stop appreciating one another, it can drive a wedge between them. Concentrate your efforts on what you’re thankful for, and you will build a wonderful relationship together.

Although short and simple, these four statements you can make to your partner will have a huge impact on the quality of your relationship. They will build respect and love between you, and you will ensure that this is how to value your partner.
